Application:

SMW 605 is a highly effective ferrosilicon based inoculant for ductile iron.

Chemical composition:

• % Si 62 - 68
• % Al max. 1.0
• % Ca 1.8 - 2.4
• % RE 0.8 - 1.2
• % Bi 0.8 - 1.2

On request Al max. 0.85 %

Effect:

Bismuth, in combination with Cerium dramatically increases the number of nodules. To be effective against the degeneration of graphite, Rare Earth elements must be present in appropriate concentrations. Amount of ferrite in the casting are increased through the increase in the number of nodules and the shorter diffusion paths ferrite as cast can be achieved.

Addition:

Depending upon the prevailing conditions (quality of the base iron, inoculation procedures, castings etc.) we recommend

• 0,05 - 0,15 % by weight for stream inoculation
• 0,2 - 0,3 % by weight for ladle inoculation
  

Standard sizes:

• Grain size: GSK ( size for metal stream inoculation)
• 0.2- 2 mm

Packaging:

25 kg paper bags, 100 kg drums or 1 ton big bags

Storage:

Kept in a dry place, SMW 605 can be stored in its original packaging indefinitely. Normal safety regulations are to be observed. For further information, contact our shipping department.
