Key Features
Metakote I -100 is a ready for use spirit based Zircon coating. It has
excellent thixotropic properties with high solids and excellent
suspension characteristics which enable good application by brushing or
swabbing. Metakote-I-100 imparts superior casting finish in steel,
cast-iron and copper based compositions. It is stable for all types of
binder backgrounds especially resinous binders.
Functions:
- Refractory properties of Zircon are utilized for coating sand
moulds and cores and the coating layer resists metal penetration and
sand fusion on the casting surface. - Excellent suspension properties tend to give easy re-mix ability and require minimum preparation.
- High filler to carrier ratio and high gel strength allows very
small seepage into mould or core face and hence chances of sand surface
weakening is minimized.
Application:
- Metakote-I-100 is supplied as a creamy paste which requires to be
diluted with Isopropyl Alcohol for usage. Application at 90-92 deg
Baume is recommended for application which can be achieved with
dilution ratio of 100: 0.05 (product: IPA). For spraying consistency
dilution can be done up to 20%. - By brushing or swabbing apply at a speed that allows building a desired coating thickness.
- Ignite the coated area immediately to avoid solvent evaporation.
- Close the container when not in use.

Storage and Handling: The product should be stored at a room
temperature under roof and away from direct sunlight and moisture. Use
safety measures while handling the above product.
Shelf-Life: 6 Months from the date of manufacture.
