Key Features
CHARACTERISTIC & FEATURES: A range of grain refining agents for aluminum and aluminum alloys. The product in this range is supplied in tablet form.
PRODUCT FUNCTION: When un nucleated aluminum alloys solidify,
they tend to solidify with a coarse grain structure in thick sections
such as billets and slabs. This creates difficulty in forging and
working in casting can results in poor feeding and shrinkage defects,
inferior mechanical properties and unsatisfactory pressure tightness.
It has been established that Titanium and Boron are very efficient
grain refining elements producing respective nuclei of Titanium carbide
or aluminum Boride through out the melt. The grain refiner range is
designed to produced the required nucleation effect accurately and
efficiently. In short, treatment with grain refiner ensures fine and
uniform grain formation through out the section during solidification.

METHOD OF USING: Normally grain refining is done after degassing
treatment. The application of these tablets are done by plunging deep
into the melt with help of a bell or box plunger and it is held till
bubbling ceases.
