Product Overview
Key Features
POLYCOAT EP
(Super Polymer)
Product Description:
POLYCOAT EP is a Super Polymer specially developed to improve the properties of cementations compositions. When it is used in combination with standard quality of ordinary Portland cement, it enhances the mechanical properties, such as bonding with various building materials, flexural, compression and impact strength. It is also highly recommended for repair mortars, the resultant composite has drastic improved tensile and flexural properties.
Features / Advantages:
- Increases flexural and tensile strength .
- Compressive strength is comparable with concrete.
- Reduced shrinkage, water permeability.
- Good bonding between old & new concrete.
- High strength mortar with good resilience .
- Durable structural repairs, restoration & waterproofing .
- Improved abrasion resistant flooring .
Typical Applications :
1) Polymer Cement Bonding Coat
To prepare a polymer based bonding coat, take 1 part POLYCOAT EP and 0.5 kg cement ( by weight) and mix thoroughly. Use a mechanical mixer preferably. The materials thus mixed, form a thick slurry, of a consistency easily applicable by brush. The slurry thus prepared is ready for use as a bonding material. The surface on which the bonding coat is to be applied, has to be cleaned with a water jet approximately 24 hours prior to application. This will help in making the substrata, slightly moist. After application of the slurry on the requisite surface, place the next screed or mortar etc that is to come over it. ("wet on wet" application )
2) Polymer Modified Cement Mortar :
To prepare a composite mortar of Polymer and cement base, use 1 kg POLYCOAT EP , 5 kg (fresh) Cement, 15 Kg Quartz sand (graded). First dry mix the cement and sand in a mixer. Separately mix POLYCOAT EP with the requisite quantity of water. Then add this water-polymer mix to the cement-sand in the mixer and mix for 3 minutes at least. The mortar is now ready for use.
For superior strength and effective crack filling, use 2 kgs POLYCOAT EP in above mix ,keeping other ratios same .
It gives approx. 21 to 22 kgs mixture (equivalent to 0.01 Cubic Mtr or 10 ltrs)
3) Application as a Grout :
To prepare a polymer based cement grout, use 1 kg POLYCOAT EP , 3 kg Cement (fresh) and 2 kg water. Mix POLYCOAT EP and water first and add this to the cement using a mechanical mixer till a slurry of uniform consistency is formed. This is now ready for use. Depending upon various needs of grout application w.r.to viscosity the above proportion of POLYCOAT EP could be different .
Curing :
Moisture cure for 24 hours allow to dry out .
Cleaning :
Tools & equipments should be cleaned with water immediately after use.
Storage & Shelf life :
24 months from the date of manufacture.
Shake well before using after prolonged storage
Packing : 20 lit, 50 lit, 200 lit
