• Reach Truck: Designed for the indoor applications, specifically in warehouse operations with high racks, reach trucks can extend forks far enough to access long distances in a racking system.
• Pallet Jack: Sometimes called pallet trucks, these trucks prominently move pallets through short distances. There are two different types, electric and manual.
• Order Picker: Using a lift in conjunction with a fork extension, the operator ascends the order picker in order to use the fork access goods, typically in warehouses to grab items stored at a height. Essentially, the operator is lifted along with the forks to get access to the inventory.

Fuel Types and Power Sources
 

With forklifts, there are multiple fuel options which are required for different functions:
 

• Diesel Forklifts: These produce torque and are best suited for outdoor heavy-duty work. Use in enclosed spaces could pose a problem for operating equipment, owing to emissions.
• Electric Forklifts: These are powered from either lead-acid or lithium batteries that do not create emissions when operating. This equipment is environmentally friendly, quiet, and typically best for indoor applications.
• LPG/Gas Forklifts: These operate on both indoor and outdoor applications, with unlimited use, quick and easy refueling, and consistency in powering the lift.
