Key Features
(2 PART - NO BAKE SYSTEM)
META COLD is a two part no bake system. The binder is based on resins
and the catalyst is acidic in nature. When resin comes in contact with
the catalyst, it reacts fast and forms the hard resinous film and a
firm bond. As curing depends on acid catalyst, the sand used for this
process should be dry and free from alkaline earth and carbonates as
these impurities consume catalyst and prolong the curing process. In
order to overcome these problems it is advisable to check the
percentage of carbonates present in the sand. Once this is determined,
percentage of catalyst can be increased by 10-15 %. How much liquid
catalyst to be increased will have to be judged by taking 2-3 trials to
arrive at a final conclusion of bench life of the prepared sand and
final curing.

- META COLD - 320 (CATALYST)

TYPICAL SAND MIX
- Dry Sand (Free from Carbonates): 100 Parts
- META COLD - 310 BINDER: 1.50 - 2.50% of Sand
- META COLD - 320 CATALYST: 30 - 60 % of Binder
MIXING CYCLE
First ensure thorough mixing of sand + liq.catalyst (1-2 minutes) & then add binder & mix further for 3 - 4 minutes.
BENCH LIFE: 2-15 minutes
Typical mix with 2% resin & 50% normal catalyst with Esmo Sand (50 - 60)
Compression Strength Checked on 2 " X 2" specimen
- 30 minutes: 40 PSI
- 1 hour: 150 PSI
- 2 hours: 200 PSI
- 4 hours: 250 PSI
The above mentioned compression strength may vary according to grain size of sand, percentage of binder used, ambient etc.
