Meta Set

METASET is a fast setting binder system. It is a two-part system free from Nitrogen & Sulphur. The system is suitable for moulding as well as core making for the production of steel, cast iron & light alloys casting.

The META SET System consists of two parts:

• METASET 910 BINDER : Phenolic resin.
• METASET 920 CATALYST : Ester base Catalyst.

Application
Sand Composition

• 80/100 washed silica sand : 100 parts.
• METASET 910 Binder : 2% based on sand .
• METASET 920 Catalyst : 20 % based on binder.

Mixing Cycle

Add Catalyst to the sand & mix for 1.0 minutes. Add the binder & Mix for 1.5 minutes. Total mixing time is approx. 3 minutes.

Recommended quality of sand

• Carbonates : Nil.
• Clay Content : 0.2% max.
• Moisture : Minimum possible.

Properties of Sand Mix.

• Bench Life : 5 to 25 minutes (depending on the grade & addition of catalyst)
• Breakdown Properties : Being a phenolic resin system, the sand has excellent
• Gas Evolution : Gas evolution is very low.
• Hot Strength : METASET system has very good hot strength.

SHELF LIFE
Shelf life is 6 weeks from the date of manufacturing. It is therefore important that the material should be used within specified time period
