Forward Curved
This impeller is provided with blades that curve towards the direction of rotation. These fans have low space requirements, low tip speed and have noise free operation. Further, these are mainly used against low to moderate static pressures such as those in heating and air conditioning works and ventilation systems. This type of fan is not recommended for dust or particulate, which would stick to the short curved blades and cause imbalance.

Backward Inclined / Backward Curved
Backward Inclined / Backward Curved blades are inclined opposite to the direction of fan rotation. It usually has higher tip speeds and provides high efficiency and relatively low noise levels with non-overloading horsepower features. In a non-overloading fan, the maximum horsepower is achieved near the optimum operating point so any variation from that point because of a change in system resistance will lead to in a reduction in operating horsepower.
