IRON-COBALT SOFT MAGNETIC ALLOY HIPERCO 27

Hiperco27 is a new kind of soft magnetic alloy and also called FeCo27. while its permeability and the coercive force slightly smaller than hiperco50, but the mechanical toughness and ductility is better, can be competent for machining, the saturated magnetic induction intensity and Curie temperature are fairly to HiperCo 50.

Standard Specification ASTM A801-14 Alloy 2

The alloy is melted using Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) techniques.

FURTHER PROCESSING -Heat Treatment

A final heat treatment /magnetic final annealing is mandatory for achieving the magnetic and mechanical properties. The necessary growth of the grains in the material, and hence the accompanying improvement in the characteristic magnetic values, only occurs during the final annealing.

The maximum magnetic properties of HIPERCO 27 are best achieved by annealing for 5 hours at 860 C to 880 C in a pure dry hydrogen atmosphere (-40 C dew point). Cooling in the blow 880 C to 500 C range at 130C per hour ,500 C to 500 C at 150 C/hour is recommended. In order to retain the maximum properties this anneal should be done after all manufacturing of the part is completed.
