Key Features
1) Furnace Controls:
This comprises of :
a) Electrode control with either Current Control or optional
Impedance Control.
b) Slipping cycle control with electrode consumption and
electrode position monitoring facilities.
2) Electrode Control:
This comprises of:
a) Current Control:
The electrode current shall be monitored with the help of primary current on the transformer side & microprocessor based interposing C.T. with respect to the transformer tap position. The operator shall enter set point on computer/ auxiliary keyboard corresponding to the required electrode current. An additional parameter for hysterisis shall also be entered. The control system shall generate 'Electrode Raise' command whenever the electrode current is greater than set point plus hyterisis. Similarly, 'Electrode Lower' command is generated whenever the electrode current is less than set point minus hysterisis. The electrode remains inactive when the electrode current is within set point +/- hysterisis. The Raise and Lower commands are given to solenoid valve (230V ac) for hydraulic cylinders provided for lifting or lowering the Electrodes.
