In the conventional method, the TEE is fabricated by welding a branch to the main pipe on the profile made on its surface. The welding is a weak point in that the joint cannot be completely checked using X-ray & other method. Thus, ensuring the quality and reliability of the weld against leaks in high pressure and Ultra High Vacuum applications is rather difficult and hence the conventional method poses limitations for such application. Further the job becomes more and more difficult to fabricate if the TEE is to be made with number of branches and access to welding all the pieces is a problem.
