French-process Zinc Oxide has been proved superior to American-process type in fungus resistance and less sulfide staining.
Direct Process zinc oxide is preferred due to its lower reactivity, the primary function of the zinc oxide is as a fungistat. Zinc oxide is also used in shipa s antifouling paint compositions.
