The milk storage tank would be used to store chilled milk at 4A C temperature. Constructional features of this tank is single / double walled, insulation / uninsulation and welded construction of sanitary design. A VMST is a cylindrical storage vessel with a flat sloppy bottom and a conical top. Generally, the VMST is insulated with cold insulation on the conical top, sloppy bottom and side wall.
There is a stainless stell material welded cladding over the insulation. The construction is suitable for installing the tank inside dairy processing rooms. The tank has standard accessories like an inlet-cum-outlet for the product. It has a top mounted low shear agitator for keeping the product homogenous. The tank has also other accessories like a top man hole, CIP connecton, spray ball, air vent, sight & light glass, ladder, lifting lugs, provision for temperature and level sensors. The tank generally has conical legs with ball feet.
