PIE REVERSE ROTATION INDICATOR (RRI) is a microprocessor based electronic instrument which senses the rotation of the shaft in the normal & reverse direction. It initiates an Alarm signal if the Rotating shaft in the machine reverse its normal direction of Rotation. it also displays the speed of rotation of the shaft in RPM.

The main components of the RRI are the PROBE ASSEMBLY,PROBE DRIVER UNIT and the ALARM UNIT. The probe assembly consists of 3 probe assigned A,B,C and is mounted rigidly & radially.

The three probes units with separate proximeter unit are mounted inside a junction box.The proximeter units recevies +12 Volts DC supply from main Instruments

The RRI accepts input from the PROXIMETER PROBE and senses the direction of rotation of the shaft. The reverse Rotation is sensed within 120 degree of Reverse motion by sensing coils mounted radially to the shaft.

The signals from the proximity sensor are fed to the driver units in the junction box.The output is then taken to the indicator unit where they are shaped, amplified and fed to a logic circuit which senses the direction of the Rotating shaft and initiates the necessary Alarm by switching the relay ON or OFF.

The Normal & Reverse direction of Rotation are indicated by LEDs provided on the front panel.The RRI is panel/flush mounting instrument.The unit receives 240/110 V AC power supply.The front panel has a four digital for RPM indication and status indications for Proximeter working
