A crayon (or wax pastel) is a writing or drawing tool made of coloured wax. Wax crayons are distinct from pastels, which have a dry binder such as gum arabic, and oil pastels, which have a binder made up of wax and oil. Most children use the colouring crayon, sometimes known as a wax crayon, to draw, but artists also utilise it. It's made up of waxes including paraffin, beeswax, and carnauba wax, as well as dry colour. In modern crayons, synthetic wax-like materials are also employed. The solid form of paraffin wax is transported to the factory. The mixture is then heated until it turns into a liquid. The paint is then blended with powdered pigments to add colour and clay to thicken it. The fluid is then pumped into moulds to form the shape of the crayons.
