Flowering habit: As the stem reaches maturity, an erect inflorescence develops from the apical portion of the stem. This is very colourful with the bracts a bright salmon-red colour. A notable feature is the yellowish green colour of the bract tips. Small green fruits develop which sometimes mature and produce seeds.
