Hydrobloc - Sap For Water Blocking Tapes

These HYDROBLOC - SAP for Water Blocking Tapes is a specially designed Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP) for the production of swellable cable components in the form of cross-linked superabsorbent granules. Powdered HYDROBLOC materials offer the long term stability which cables require. The balance between gel blocking and swellability are maintained with the ability to offer powders which have controlled particle size distributions, anti-caking, and chemistries which perform in demanding environments. Application can be best performed with electrostatic and fluidized applicators.
HYDROBLOC polymers are especially suited for electrical, telecommunications, coaxial and optical cables; underground cables and underwater cables.

HYDROBLOC polymers can be:
- Used directly in powder form onto braided shielding area or in the wire/ conductor area of a cable
- Incorporated in powder form into nonwoven
- Incorporated in powder form into filling/flooding compounds
- Incorporated in powder form into hot melts

HYDROBLOC polymers can be incorporated into and on various substrates via fluidized bed, electrostatic or vibratory methods.

The usage of HYDROBLOC swell powder provide excellent water-blocking properties to the swellable tape or special tape segments, like non-conductive swellable tapes, semi conductive swellable tapes and special tapes (e.g. combination with foils).

The HYDROBLOC swelling powder can be applied to single layer, double layer and sandwich types.
