* Bed is made from 25 grade cast iron and the bed ways are flame hardened up to 400BHN and grinding is done to meet the accuracy required. Bed casting are rough machined before being hardened & precision ground. The bed is heavily web bed and cross based to prevent any deflection. The inverted a Va type slide ways are meant to retain accurate travel of the carriage and tail stock. It is strictly inspected with micro levels, hardness tester and straight edge
* Boring of headstock is done precisely on boring machine and fitted with hardened and ground spindle made from alloy steel. The head stock is cone pulley type and the main spindle runs in accurate taper roller bearings. Back gear is fitted under the main spindle and it can be engaged or disengaged by means of a lever. Eight spindle speeds are obtained in Heavy Duty Lathe Machines.
