We are supplying Grade A Ox Gallstones from Budapest, Hungary. Gallstones are mineral elements (and not organic matter) mainly found in bovines gallbladders. Ox gallstones are separated into different kinds depending on their size, shape and colour, each of which holds a significant commercial value.

Gallstones look like stones of various shapes and colours.
Two main shapes : egg-shaped or pyramid-shaped.
Two distinct colours : Orange brown, or dark brown close to brownish black.

Product description
After extracting the gallstones from the Ox, cow, cattlea s intestines they have to be washed thoroughly with cold water to remove blood clots, impurities etc. After washing they are dried for two to three weeks in a dark and well ventilated environment at a temperature of approx. 20 degrees Celsius. The stones have to be moved regularly for better drying and to avoid them sticking at each other. After full drying the stones are packed in hermetically sealed bags.

Quality and classification
Highest demand is for stones with the following features:
yellow golden orange color;
stones with low specific weight;
large stones;
bili rubin content not less than 35%;

There is a demand for dark stones as well, but prices are considerably lower however.
Stones are traded in the following specifications:
100% whole stones
90% whole stones / 10% broken
80% whole stones / 20% broken
70% whole stones / 30% broken
60% whole stones / 40% broken
100% broken stones
100% ox gall powder

The stones have to have a natural smell of healthy, BSE free cattle. Liver stones, kidney stones, piping, moldy stones, blood stones, cholesterol stones and stones descending from other animals respectively are separated

We have this products in various grades from A, B, C, and D. Below are details for each grade.
These are a mixture of Super A and A grade quality ox/cattle gallstones, bright yellow/orange/light brown colors showing rich texture, they have been brushed and cleaned of all foreign material and they are our top.

These are a mixture of second grade quality ox/cattle gallstones howing a deeper orange to dark brown colors, of large and small gallstones, together with broken chips and brushed and cleaned of all foreign material.

These are a mixture of third grade quality ox/cattle gallstones showing colors and textures of the above grades, however, they are downgraded as they are affected with calcium deposits and they also, included in this grade are darker to black gallstones,
sponge like textured gallstones, chips and dust and have been brushed and cleaned of all foreign material.

These are a mixture of inferior grade ox/cattle gallstones and usually these gallstones are very hard and black in color and also included in this grade are all other gallstones that have not met our strict grading standards of the other grades.
