GE Series Spherical Plain Bearings are sliding bearings consisting of an inner ring with convex sphere outer surface and an outer ring with a concave sphere inner surface. Spherical Plain bearings are used generally for relatively slow tilting and oscillating motions and for applications characterized by high contact pressures. They are particularly suitable for bearing arrangements where a certain misalignment of the shaft with respect to the housing must be accommodated. They can also accommodate heavy radial and/or axial loads dependent upon the design. Spherical Plain Bearings are used in almost all branches of industry like agricultural machinery, Automotive engineering, Cranes, Excavators, Machine tools, Mining machinery, Trailers etc. Rod ends consist of a forged head which terminates in a shaft with mail or female threading and a spherical plain bearing pressed into the head. Rod ends are mainly used in the construction of control rod linkages, where tr-active and compressive loads have to be transmitted through a system of adjustable controls rods.
