These steam turbines are mainly designed to cater to the Steam requirement as well as to meet the power demand. It is custom built in such a way that whatever power that can be generated through back pressure process is utilized first, and the balance power requirement is generated by condensing the required quantity of steam. Steam is generated in the boiler at high pressure and superheated to the required level and then passed through the Extraction cun Back pressure turbine wherein the back pressure is set for Process pressure requirement. The turbine can be coupled either to the Alternator or Induction Generator, depending on the Steam and Power consumption pattern of the process.
