We are prestigious and major exporter of Export Quality Fresh Pomegranate in Surat, Gujarat, India. The total area under cultivation of pomegranate in India is 107.00 thousand ha and production is around 743.00 thousands tons.
Varieties of Pomegranate exported from India are,

Bhagwa - The fruit is glossy red in colour with dark pink arils and soft seeds. Fruit weighs between 250-450 grams with high T.S.S.

Ganesh - This variety has pinkish yellow to reddish yellow rind colour, having light pink arils and soft seeds. Fruit weighs between 250-450 gms with medium T.S.S.

Harvest, Packaging and Transportation

Pomegranates are harvested from the orchards early in the morning and packed in cardboard corrugated fiberboard cartons of 3.0 or 3.5 kg net capacity. The pomegranate cartons are moved to cold rooms within 4 to 5 hours of harvest and packaging for pre-cooling at 5-6 degree Celsius with 90-95% relative humidity.

40 ft reefer container - 4200 cartons (210 carton * 20 pallets) or 4400 cartons (without pallets)

20 ft reefer container - 1890 cartons (210 carton * 9 pallets) or 2000 cartons (without pallets)

Availability of Pomegranates for export from India,

Pomegranates are available almost throughout the year. With the adoption of bahar treatment ita s harvest can be tailored according to demand.

Mrig Bahar (Season) - Flowering Time is from June to August and Harvest period is from November to March.

Hasta Bahar (Season) - Flowering Time is from October to November and Harvest period is from February to May.

Ambe Bahar (Season) - Flowering Time is from January to February and Harvest period is from June to August.

Details of grade designation and sizing of pomegranate as per AGMARK standard are as follows,

Extra class - Pomegranate in this class are of superior quality. They are free of defects, with the exception of very slight superficial defects, which do not affect the general appearance of the produce, the quality, the keeping quality and presentation in the package.

Class I - Pomegranates in this class are of superior quality with slight skin blemishes not exceeding 5% of the total surface area.

Class II - This class includes pomegranates which do not qualify for inclusion in higher classes, but satisfy the minimum requirements with slight skin blemishes not exceeding 10% of the total surface area.
