Product Overview
Key Features
Steam Powered Condensate Pump
A Low Maintenance, NonElectric Solution to Condensate Pumping.
BEP Condensate Transfer Pump Can be pressurized by steam, Air or other gases which displaces the condensate through a check valve.
These are designed to moved condensate without the use of electricity and return
condensate at higher temperatures.
The BEP Condensate Transfer Pump is constructed of quality material for safe operation in hazardous locations .The casing is carbon steel and internal working parts are
stainless steel including float, valve and mechanical linkage. Maintenance is negligible
because there is no mechanical seal or packing to leak.
Silent features
1) Fully mechanical. Electricity is not required.
2) No moving part assured zero maintenance.
3) Best utilization of flash steam.
4) Suitable for high temp. application. No cavitation problem
5) Less steam consumption at low pressure.
6) No live steam requirement for low capacity pump.
7) Can be operated on compressed Air.
8) Automatic venting of Air & Non Condensable gases
9) Easy monitoring of pump operation with sight glass
10) Various sizes for different capacities.
( max. capacity 30,000 kg/hr )
Recovery of the Energy in Flash Steam
A condensate pipe may contain only 15% flash steam (in mass terms) as compared to
85% (by mass) condensate. The flash steam may therefore seem trivial. However, a
glance at the steam table shows that the heat content of steam at 1 kg/cm2 is 638.5kcal/kg
while that of water is only 99.1kcal/kg.
In other words, half the energy in condensate can be lost if flash steam is vented.
Condensate pipe carries approximately 90% (by volume) of flash steam, and 10% of
condensate. This bi-phase condition occurs immediate downstream of the trap or
discharge orifice. To recover the flash steam, the bi-phase fluid has to be separated into
condensate and flash steam. As the pressure is low, the separation method cannot allow
much pressure drop, but must separate the two phases efficiently, so that the flash steam
is dry enough to use.
