The crushing plant is exclusively designed for the crushing of complete, full lead acid storage batteries and for the classification of their components. The system is capable of processing up to 5.0 tons of whole, un-drained batteries per hour (or approximately 280 batteries per hour).

The plant produces plastic, paste, grid metal and waste organic fractions. This simplified system of crushing and classification avoids the hazardous, time-consuming procedure of sawing and dumping prior to classification. Omega System utilizes wet classification with automatic controls. This method of classification minimizes lead oxide dusting, resulting in easier compliance with safety and health standards. The Classification/Wash system simplifies control of solution flows, thereby aiding in the prevention of lead and acid contamination of surrounding water systems.
