Strip Seal Expansion Joint - Color: Silver

Strip seal expansion joints are designed to accommodate movement in bridge decks and other structures while maintaining a watertight seal. They typically consist of two edge beams with anchorages, and a neoprene sealing element held within the edge beams. These joints allow for expansion and contraction of the structure, prevent water and debris from entering, and withstand traffic loads.

Key components and specifications:
Edge Beams: Steel components that protect the deck and transfer loads to the substructure. They are typically made of steel conforming to grades like RST 37-2 or 37-3 (DIN), ASTM A36 or A588, or equivalent.

Anchorages: Connect the edge beams to the bridge deck, transferring loads and ensuring stability. The minimum thickness of anchor plates is 12mm, and the total cross-sectional area of anchor bars should not be less than 1600mmA A per meter of joint length.

Sealing Element: A neoprene (or similar) strip that provides a watertight seal, accommodating movement between the edge beams.

Movement Capacity: Strip seal joints can accommodate movements up to 80mm or even 125mm depending on the specific design and profile.

Load Capacity: Must withstand traffic loads and impact forces.
