Working principle :-
The main component of a solar water heater is the vacuum tube that absorbs heat from the sun's rays. The double walled glass tube has the inner tube filled with water and the space between the inner and the outer tube is evacuated and sealed. The inner tube is connected to the water tank as in the figure. When sun rays fall on the tube the inner tube and the water in it gets heated up. Due to thermosyphonic circulation the hot water rises up into the tank and is replaced continually by cold water from the tank in a short while. Enough hot water collects at the upper region of the tank and is piped out for use.
