Calcium and silicon have a strong affinity with oxygen. Especially calcium which have a strong affinity not only with oxygen but also with Sulfur and Nitrogen. Therefore SiCa alloy is an ideal Deoxidants and desulfurization agent. Silicon allloy have a strong Oxygen capacity which make it easy to discharge Deoxidation products as well as improving the performance of steel such as plasticity toughness and mobility of steel.
At present Silicon calcium alloy can replace the aluminum alloy for the final deoxidation which is used in producing the high-quality steel special steel and special alloys.
