This SCAN-test standard replaces SCAN-C 26.67 and SCAN-M 5:67 from which it differs in several important respect: the grammage of the sheets has been decreased from 70 g/m2 to 60 g/m2, a second pressing step has been added and the drying procedure has been changed so that the sheets are dried in air of the same temperature and humidity as applied the same as described in SCAN-C 26:67 and in SCAN-M 5:67.

This standard is based on decision taken by ISO/TC6/SC5 in Madrid 1973.

Scope

This SCAN test standard specifies a method for the preparation of laboratory sheets form pulp for the purpose of carrying out subsequent physical tests on this sheet s in order to assess the relevant properties of the pulp itself.

Field of application:

This standard is applicable to most kinds of pulp. It is not suitable for some very long fibred pulps, such as those from unshortened cotton, flax and similar materials.

This standard is not appropriate for the preparation of laboratory sheets for the determination of ISO brightness.
