His areas of interest include Digitization and Preservation of Indigenous Knowledge, Information Philosophy and Ethics, Information Economics and Information Systems Studies. Dr. Hangsing participated, spoke and presented papers in various conferences, symposia and similar professional activities. His works are widely published in different mediums of scholarly communication. He served the university in various capacities such as member of Library Digitization Committee and University Management System among others
