Railway Fare Display Unit(prs/uts)

Railway Fare Display Unit(Prs/Uts) to be connected either to dump terminal or thin client by switch selection and by changing the link cables
Description of the system :
The unit shall be microcontroller based with suitable memory and Rs232C serial port. The design should be compact and rugged.

The ticket information will come through serial link from the UTS dump terminals or thin client, which is to be properly received by the unit and to be properly decoded to extract the required data. A slide switch will be provided inside the unit to select between dump terminal and thin client. For both the modes the link cables will be different.

For every purchase of ticket the display unit shall get the data and display the From Station (16 chr), To Station (16 chr), No. of Adult (1 dig), No. of Child (1dig), date of Journey (dd:mm) and TOTAL FARE in Rupees in 5 digits max..

For each purchase of ticket, the display will remain for approx. 180 seconds. After that the display will be blank. However, if the next purchase is done before the lapse of this time, then the display shall automatically change over to the next ticket information.
