Cultivation Technology & its importance As we are aware Sarpgandha once planted in field remains there for at least next 18 months & its developmemt of roots & production of seeds depends on the quality & quantity of manure which is provided at the initial stage. So,we have made the schedule of proper dosage & quantity for the crop at regular intervals os that the grower gets the maximum yield on harvesting. So,growers can ask for that schedule & dosage.

Marketing/Selling In past 3 years,the market of Sarpgandha has become strong due to its demand & due to the persons who cultivated the crop with wrong quality seed which made them suffer losses & the growers who purchased the RS-1 variety got their material sold at double rates as their material was superior in quality. So,marketing is not at all a problem if the genuine RS-1 seeds/plants are used for cultivation. We supply only RS-1 variety as we want our associated growers to get benefited. On one hand Sarpgandha dry roots give fine returns & in addition to it,seeds which has been collected also is sold at fine rates.

Yield The production of Sarpgandha dry roots from 1 acre is from 7-9 quintals {approx}. During 1 crop,we also get nearabout 25 kg sarpgandha seed.

Harvesting Generally the roots are harvested in the month of Deember-January when the leaves fall off the plants.During harvesting,it should be kept in mind that the skin of the roots does not get peeled off as the skin itself contains 40%-55% alkaloids.After harvesting,the roots must be well driedsuch that it must not have more than 8% moisture.

Irrigation
It requires immense moisture in the soil. We have to irrigate the field as per the demand of the soil.
