MK-40 is an artificial pozzolana (metakaolin). It is obtained by calcining and micronising a Ukrainian kaolinitic clay.
MK-40 is a dehydroxylated aluminium silicate. Its general formula is Al2O3.2SiO2.
It is an amorphous non-crystallised material, constituted of lamellar particles.
