It is used in households for cooking as well as for other purposes viz. refrigeration, cutting in metallurgy industry, some fabrication purposes etc. Being heavier than air and having low boiling point of around 200C, if leaked it accumulates on the ground and creates a whitish fog while turning from liquid state under high pressure to gaseous state at normal pressure.
