The Company is the largest automotive components group of companies in Indonesia. The Company was initially established under the name of PT Alfa Delta Motor in 1976. Then in 1977, PT Alfa Delta Motor changed its name to PT Pacific Western, and subsequently became PT Menara Alam Teknik in 1991 after the Astra Group acquired the shares of PT Summa Surya in PT Menara Alam Teknik in 1983. The Astra Group eventually took over all the shares in PT Menara Alam Teknik in 1993, wherein PT Menara Alam Teknik changed its name to PT Menara Alam Pradipta. The Company changed its name once again in 1996 to PT Astra Pradipta Internusa and in the same year, PT Astra Pradipta Internusa merged with PT Federal Adiwira Serasi and PT Astra Pradipta Internusa was dissolved without going through a liquidation, whereby all its rights and obligations were turned over to PT Federal Adiwira Serasi. Following the merger of a number of components manufacturers within the Astra Group, the CompanyAcA A s name was changed and became PT Astra Dian Lestari, which eventually became PT Astra Otoparts on 4th December, 1997. The CompanyAcA A s business activity focuses on the production and distribution process of a range of two-wheeled and four wheeled vehicle spare parts, with the largest market segment comprised of the automotive manufacturing market (OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer) and replacement parts market (REM - Replacement Market). As of 2018, the Company serves as the holding company for 7 (seven) business units, 14 (fourteen) consolidated subsidiaries, 21 (twenty one) associated and joint venture entities, 1 (one) investment in a company as well as 13 (thirteen) indirect companies with a total number of employees amounting to 35,404 orang. In order to strengthen its position in the automotive parts industry and expand its market share on a national and global scale, the Company continues to implement strategic measures. One of the CompanyAcA A s strategic steps is to establish joint ventures with leading component suppliers from the United States, China, Italy, Japan, Taiwan and Sweden such as Aisin Seiki, Aisin Takaoka, Akashi Kikai Seisakusho, Akebono Brake, Aktiebolaget SKF, Asano Gear, Daido Steel, Denso, DIC Corporation, GS Yuasa, Juoku Technology, Kayaba, Keihin Seimitsu Kogyo, Mahle, MetalArt, Nippon Gaskets, Nittan Valve, NTN Corporation, Pirelli, SunFun Chain, Toyoda Gosei, Toyota Industries, and Visteon. In the manufacturing sector, the Company maintains 4 (four) business units, 12 (twelve) consolidated subsidiaries, 21 (twenty one) associated entities and joint ventures, 1 (one) investment in a company and 12 (twelve) indirect subsidiaries. The CompanyAcA A s business products, are component products and their assemblies, that distributed directly both to the automotive manufacturing market and to the replacement parts market within and outside Indonesia through the CompanyAcA A s trading business units. A number of the CompanyAcA A s customers are leading automotive manufacturers in the world, such as Toyota, Daihatsu, Isuzu, UD Trucks, Hino, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Perodua, Suzuki, and Wuling for four-wheeled vehicles and Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and TVS for two-wheeled vehicles.
