Carpets in India The genesis of carpet weaving in India dates back to the Mughal period. Five centuries later, the art of Hand Knotted Carpets, Silk Hand Knotted Carpet, Modern Hand Knotted Carpets, Oriental Hand Knotted Carpet, Handmade Carpet, Hand Knotted Carpet India-weaving has been gradually confined to certain pockets across the Indian subcontinent, preserved by a small community of artisans.
