Used to measurement of Cys-C concentration in human serum. Glomerular filtration rate (CFR) is the most direct indicator of kidney function tests. In the early kidney appeared to reduce the CFR. Cys-C is a low molecular weight cysteine protease inhibitors, Cys-C is almost completely filtrated by glomerular and reabsorbed by renal tubular. But can not be secreted nor excreted by renal tubular. Cys-C cannot be influenced by inflammation, gender, muscle and age changing. So Cys-C is a very stable sensitive indicator who can reflect glomerular filtration rate.
