Chlorpyriphos 50% + Cypermethrin 5% EC is a wide-spectrum insecticide in the form of an emulsifiable concentrate containing two active ingredients with different modes of action for efficient pest management: Chlorpyriphos (50%) is an organophosphate insecticide that acts by preventing the degradation of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine by inhibiting the enzyme acetylcholinesterase in the nervous systems of insects. This leads to accumulation of acetylcholine, overstimulation, paralysis of the nerves, and killing of the pest. Cypermethrin (5%) is a chemical pyrethroid insecticide that interferes with the normal functioning of nerves by impacting sodium channels in insect nerve cells, resulting in hyperexcitation, paralysis, and pest mortality.
