Key Features
The Bowie & Dick test is designed to assist in determining whether an autoclave cycle removes air effectively from packs. An inert chemical indicator (CI) paper is placed between two layers of porous paper and then wrapped in aluminum foil. The pack is steam sterilized and, if the cycle has been effective, the paper remains blue. If any areas of paper turn pink, the sterilizer should be checked and reconditioned. This pack does not show efficacy of vacuum or gravity cycles.
Bowie&Dick test pack is a self-contained, easy to use, sterilization monitoring device. It has been specifically designed to meet the criteria specified in AAMI/ANSI. It is recommended to be used with every steam autoclave sterilization cycle as a Bowie&Dick Test and for other air removal tests.
