The Blizzard is a cost-effective alternative to TOMRAâÂÂs Helius and Nimbus sorters that can be tailored according to your specific needs. It is a small footprint, free-fall, food sorting machine, that was specifically designed to fit in processing lines and is optimal for positioning with the output of IQF tunnels or packaging lines.
Pulsed LEDs with different wavelengths and specifically designed sensors ensure a reliable detection of colour, shape, and structural differences. State-of-the-art air ejectors remove unwanted material with millisecond precision, allowing the good product to continue for further processing. The small pitch system ensures efficient removal of all defects at high capacity, providing a high-quality end product while reducing good product loss and minimizing labor costs to increasing yield and profitability.
TOMRA Food designs and manufactures sensor-based sorting machines and integrated post-harvest solutions for the food industry. We innovate the world most advanced analytical technology and apply it to grading, sorting, and peeling. Over 12,800 units are installed at food growers, packers, and processors worldwide for confectionery, fruit, dried fruit, grains and seeds, potato products, proteins, nuts, and vegetables.
