Best of Kerala

Places: Cochin - Aleppey - Kumarokom - Thekkady - Cochin

Day 01: Arrive Cochin

Meet on arrival by our Company representative and transfer to hotel. Cochin or Kochi (new name) is the palm green commercial capital of Kerala. Overnight in Cochin.

Day 02: In Cochin

Breakfast at the hotel followed by a sightseeing tour of Cochin visiting - St. Francis Church, Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue and the Chinese fishing nets. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Cochin - Periyar (180 kms/ 04 hrs)

After breakfast, proceed to Periyar. The Periyar Wildlife sanctuary is one of the best maintained wildlife sanctuaries in Southern India, giving an opportunity of spotting elephants, leopards, tigers and bisons, amongst various other species of flora and fauna.

On your arrival in Periyar check into the Spice Village Resort. Overnight at the Spice Village Resort.

Day 04: In Periyar

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the resort.

Start for Thekkady(Periayr) through the beautiful paddy fields and rubber plantations. As you climb uphill you will reach the rolling tea gardens and beautiful churches. Pass through the villages and reach Thekkady by evening.
 
Periyar wildlife sanctuary is home to nomadic tribes of wild elephant, boar, deer, the great Indian tiger and more. Evening go for boat cruise in the lake to watch wild animals.
 
Visit SPICE MARKETS later in the evening.
 
Overnight in Periyar (Thekkady).

Day 05: Periyar - Kumarakom ( 180 kms/ 04 hrs)

After breakfast proceed to Kumarakom. Upon arrival check in at hotel. Rest of the day at leisure to viewing natural surroundings. Overnight at hotel.

Day 06: Kumarakom - Houseboat

After breakfast board on Houseboat for overnight cruise. takes you through the palm fringed canals and is a unique way to discover Kerala. Evening candlelit dinner on board houseboat.

On our way a stop at the St. Mary's Church at Champakulam is a must. One of the oldest churches in Kerala, the St. Mary's church is believed to be one of the seven established by St Thomas. You will see the 130 feet long snake racing boat here as they originally belong to this place.

Overnight on board houseboat.

Day 07: Houseobat- Cochin(85 kms/ 02 hrs)

After breakfast, disembark the houseboat in Alleppey and depart for Cochin International Airport by road (85kms /02 hrs) to board your flight for onward destinatnion.
