Acrylic Maleic Copolymer is a copolymer of acrylic acid and maleic anhydride of average molecular weight. This product is used as softener of water hardness, that is, it has the ability to bind Ca and Mg ions presents in the wash water. In an orientative way, the sequestering capacity of this polymer, measured as gCaCO3/g pure polymer at pH 7 is of 385; at pH 10 is of 540; and at pH 11 or pH 12 of 560.
