These cefixime tablets are sugar-coated, white, film-coated, oval tablets for oral administration. Cefixime tablets are not scored and are debossed with "31" on one side of the tablet and the dosage strength on the other side. The tablet is printed at 500 mg and contains 200 mg of cefixime anhydrous, equivalent to 165.4 mg of cefixime hydrochloride-free base. The inactive ingredients in cefixime tablets are mannitol, croscarmellose sodium, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium stearyl fumarate, and magnesium stearate. Each tablet also contains a proprietary coating material consisting of hypromellose and talc, which aids in improving dissolution and reducing gastric resistance by increasing the velocity of gastric emptying while reducing possible stomach pain. The expiration date of these tablets is 12 months.
