Indian sandalwood is globally known as East Indian Sandalwood and in India as chandan or Sandalwood. And due to this changes large number of farmers across India started plantation. Between 2003 and 2015 millions of plantation was cultivated by Indian farmers out of which many farm was found unorganized. Where about problem found like distance between plant, water management, Pruning, Fertilizer usage and many more and because of all this reason growth of tree been effected and result are not satisfactory. Since 2010 Institute of wood and science technology - Bangalore became more active and Chandan Vikas Association (CVA) came into existence and because of this sandalwood farming started in more organized and scientific method in Gujarat after 2015. Chandan vikas association is a registered trust (F 3329/GJ-3643-Vadodara) and runs NGO. Chandan Vikas Association president Mr. Nitin Patel got inspirational message from Parm Pujya Mahant Swami Maharaj Head of BAPS organization in 2014 to make this sector more organized and to give farmer proper guidance . After CVA Intervention all activity of sandalwood farming started more smoothly and in scientific manner and this association (CVA) played an important role for development of farmers across India. There was a great contribution of Dr.Ananthapadma Nabha, Dr. T. S. Rotore, and EX.APCCE Dr. Jadish Prasad (IFS) Gujarat. Chandan Vikas Association was formed by panel of farmers and their motto is to make farmers Income 10 times by doing sandalwood farming. Till date 5 seminars were conducted by CVA and thousands of farmers participated and got benefited and several group meetings were also arranged in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Telangana for their proper guidance.
