* The permeate (Liquid flowing through membrane) is encouraged to flow through membrane by pressure differential created between pressurized feed water as well as the product water (Which is at near-atmospheric pressure)
* The remaining feed water continues through pressurized side of reactor as brine
* Major energy requirement is for initial pressurization of feed water
