Tm112 Water Based Mold Release Agent

TM 112 is a specialized release agent formulated to facilitate easy part release in challenging and abrasive molding applications. It is particularly recommended for processes such as filament winding, pre-wrapping, wet lay-up on mandrels, polymer concrete, and high abrasion molding. TM 112 is designed to prevent build-up over time.

MOLD PREPARATION:
To ensure optimal performance, it is essential to prepare the mandrels by thoroughly removing all contaminants, including previous release agents and resin. Dexclean Mold Cleaner, in combination with an abrasive pad like Scotch Brite, can be utilized for this purpose. Additionally, Dexseal Mold Sealer can be applied to further enhance the overall performance.

APPLICATION:
TM 112 can be applied using either the spray or wipe method, with the wipe method generally being the most effective. For the wipe method, saturate a clean cotton cloth with TM 112 and evenly apply it to the mandrel. Initially, it is recommended to apply 2 to 3 even coats to ensure complete coverage, allowing a few minutes of dry time between each coat. It is crucial not to subject TM 112 to heat curing before the molding process.

After demolding the part, reapply TM 112 as necessary, typically with a single coat. It is worth noting that applying TM 112 on a warm surface can significantly improve its performance and ease of application. However, it is not recommended to utilize a high heat cure/dry method.

When employing the spray method, ensure that a uniform coat is sprayed onto the mandrel's surface. Any running, puddling, or excess should be promptly wiped off. It is important to use a fine mist spray system to achieve desired results. Reapplication of TM 112 may be required as needed.
