Tm 112 Release Agent

ESCRIPTION:
TM 112 is a release agent specifically designed to facilitate easy part release in challenging and abrasive molding applications. It is recommended for processes such as filament winding, pre-wrapping, wet lay-up on mandrels, polymer concrete, and high abrasion molding. TM 112 does not build up over time.

MOLD PREPARATION:
To ensure optimal performance, mandrels should be free of all contaminants, including previous release agents and resin. Dexclean Mold Cleaner and an abrasive pad (such as Scotch Brite) can be used to accomplish this. Additionally, Dexseal Mold Sealer can be applied to further enhance performance.

APPLICATION:
TM 112 can be applied using either the spray or wipe method, although the wipe method is generally considered more effective. When using the wipe method, saturate a clean cotton cloth with TM 112 and apply it to the mandrel. Initially, 2 to 3 even coats should be applied to ensure proper coverage, allowing a few minutes of dry time between each coat. It is important not to heat cure TM 112 before molding.

After demolding the part, reapply TM 112 as needed, typically with one coat. For improved performance and ease of application, applying TM 112 on a warm surface is recommended, although a high heat cure/dry is not advised.

When using the spray method, ensure that a uniform coat is sprayed over the mandrel's surface. Any running, puddling, or excess should be wiped off. It is crucial to use a fine mist spray system. Reapply as necessary.
