Annealing: 800 to 850 degrees C in the furnace at 10 to 20 C / hourly speed of slow cooling control 600 degrees further cooling in the air. After annealing the hardness is the highest 250 HB and the pressure is reduced: 650-700 C is slowly cooled in the furnace aiming at relieving the pressure and complex shape caused by extensive machining. After heating put it in the neutral atmosphere for 1 to 2 hours. Hardening: 980 to 1010 centigrade oil salt bath (220-250 C or 500-550 C) air gas. Tools of complex shapes or sharp edges are best hardened in air or salt bath. Keep the time after the temperature balance: 15 to 30 minutes. The obtained hardness: 63-65 HRC. Tempering: immediately heated to the tempering temperature immediately after the quenching / 1 hours per 20 millimeters of the workpiece thickness in the furnace but at least 2 hours / air cooling. To get the average hardness please refer to the temper chart. In some cases we recommend reducing the tempering temperature and increasing the heat preservation time.
