Volleyball Antenna

The antenna is a fiberglass or similar material rod that is 1.8 meters long and 10 millimeters in diameter. It's attached to the net on both ends. The antenna has a peak that's 80cm above the net and is striped with contrasting color at that length (often red and white). The 2.55-meter-tall goal posts are set up between 0.5 and 1 meter past the touchlines. The posts have been rounded and are wire-freely planted in the ground. The court's dimensions are 16 meters in length, 8 meters in width, and at least 3 meters in width on all sides. There is a 7-meter free-play zone above the field.

There is no way for the ball to touch the antenna. That automatically disqualifies it from further consideration. If giving it some thought, the ball hitting the antenna will often bounce back inward, giving the hitter an unfair advantage. When the ball goes outside of the playing field and touches the antennas or the net. If the ball is struck wide, beyond the antenna, the player must play it back toward their side of the court and, if they have enough hits remaining, attempt to hit the ball across the net into the space between the two antennae.
