These cameras feature a lens mounted on the circuit board and are imparted with charged coupled devices (CCD). This technology is used for converting light into electricity to represent picture information. Commonly available in 1/3 & sizes and larger sizes of & 2/3 (used rarely), CCD is a better technology as compared to CMOS complementary metal oxide semiconductor that has a disadvantage of getting heated up very soon.
