These colorless or white crystalline powders are soluble in water. It is used in food industries due to its souring, buffering and chelation agents. HYDRO also known as Rangkat. Rangkat is also known as Rongalite, Sodium hydroxymethanesulfinate. Rangkat is used for making perfect jalebi, that is crispy from out filled with the syrup inside, does not get soggy. It is also called Sodium Hydrosulfite / Sodium Dithionite, which is a vat reducing / bleaching agent as a technical grade product. But this is used in food industry as a preservative and also in sweets.

Field Of Applications:
Textile: A Reducing Agent, Dyeing Auxiliary in Vat Dyeing, in 'Reduction Clearing' of Disperse Dyes and in the 'Stripping' of direct colour and as a reduction Bleaching Agent for wool, nylon and cotton
Food: As a preservative
Sugar/Jaggery: For purification as a Bleaching Agent in the removal of organic and other impurities, thereby imparting attractive colour and sweetness to the end product. Jaggery produced by hydros will not become black and will not become semi solid on long storage
Pharmaceutical: Extensively used in reducing reaction and as a Bleaching Agent in the Manufacture of certain Antibiotics and Analgesics
